Depth of Being is the crescendo of more than a decade of exploring organic symmetry within my work.
Organic symmetry has long been a meditative practice for me~ a way of returning to center through balance, color, repetition, and intuitive flow. Rather than beginning with a predetermined image, I allow these compositions to unfold organically, responding to each emerging line, form, and relationship as the painting reveals itself.
Created alongside The Return for my Constellation exhibition, ‘Depth of Being’ emerged at a threshold in my creative practice. As I completed this body of work, I could feel myself being called toward more dynamic compositions and new ways of bringing symbolism, figuration, and narrative into my paintings.
With its luminous blues, violets, celestial depths, and intricate flowing forms, ‘Depth of Being’ invites the eye inward… into a space that feels at once cosmic and intimate, expansive and deeply centered.
This is currently my last available large-scale organic symmetry painting, and I do not anticipate creating another at this scale for quite some time, if ever.
